Albus managed to get hold of the horcrux he was attempting to track down. This afternoon, we safely disposed of it. One blow from the sword of Gryffindor destroyed the horcrux, a second thoroughly shattered the stone that held it.

We must meet soon to discuss our most recent information about horcruxes, the wards, the investigation, our changed circumstances at Hogwarts, and what we must do from here to move forward. We must also take the opportunity to properly mourn Minerva, and give her the farewell she so justly deserves.

Would Saturday suit? I want as many of us as possible to attend.

Four, according to Albus's intelligence. And there is sufficient evidence to suggest that one of the remaining four may be hiding in a china plate, which has its own host of problems associated with it, but the fact that we've managed to stumble across so many of the bloody things so far is promising. Not that I'd stake our entire future on it, mind.

Not to mention, Voldemort knows of the loss of the diary, and may have decided it was necessary to replace it with a new one, as it were.

He's certainly had ample opportunity.

I've just been sitting here under mum and dad's tree, thinking about how much I miss them.

How much they would've loved our children.

What they would've thought of me if they knew that I was planning on kidnapping, torturing, and killing a camp administrator in order to help a man who quite possibly had a hand in their deaths.

I know. I know. The camp administrator is not an innocent. I am not helping Lucius for his own sake, but for Draco's, which is a different matter entirely. But that does not change how heartbroken and horrified they would be.

this isn't the first time we'll have to do something hard because it's necessary, and it won't be the last. but I trust you.

and your parents were part of a different world, love. they wouldn't have been able to understand because they couldn't begin to imagine what it's like for us here and now. one thing I do know for certain, though, is that no matter what, they had one hell of a daughter.
