We told Terry last night, after dinner.
He was very quiet when we broke the news, and when I went to take his hand, he immediately changed into the Professor. He crawled right up in my lap and we stayed that way for a good while -- I held him tight while Frank ruffled his ears and petted him, and we told him stories about the families that we've lost, and the ones we've had to create from the friends around us, and I think that helped. He really is so much more comfortable being shown affection to when he's a dog.
He didn't seem like changing back when it was time for bed, nor spending the night in the dormitories, so we Transfigured a pillow into a dog bed in our room and he joined us for the night. Partway through, he ended up tucked under Frank's arm, but he was gone in the morning and was very quiet during breakfast.
Sirius, love, I hope that when he's come to you, he'll have had the time to process things. I'm very glad he's seeing you and the twins tomorrow. I'll be giving him the side-along to Grimmauld, so we can chat a bit more then.
Arthur, thank you again for following up and for passing along the news. Frank's right, it is far better that he know what's happened and be able to move forward. He'll never be without family. Not as long as he's got all of us. If you could update the twins, that would be very useful. We ought to tell Hermione, too. Perhaps they could?
