Things appear to be fairly stable for the time being.
We set up the notice-me-not field using the anchors, and managed to overtake the farm without any injuries. Cecelia had to carve the last of the runes herself on site to activate them, but it seems to have done the trick, at least for now. We'll see if they hold. Thank you for all your help, Remus. We couldn't have done it without you.
Six wizard employees and the Aldrich family are being held securely off-site for the time being. We'll sort them out later.
There was one halfblooded wizard who worked there as an overseer, Norman Bell, and when we initially gathered all the wizards together, there was a general protest among the muggles there who didn't want him harmed in any way -- apparently he helped them as best as he could, and he was trusted by them.
We explained what a secret keeper was, and the general consensus was that Norman should take responsibility for it. He agreed to it as well, and the Fidelius went off smoothly, although it took some time for him to walk around the boundaries of the farm three times.
We gave a few wands to the handful of muggle born who were at the farm -- the nanny, and two other house servants. The muggles seemed a bit nervous about that -- there were murmurs of creating new overseers -- but Norman was rather insistent that wasn't going to happen on his watch.
I've asked them to come up with a list of things they are in need of. Kingsley will be back in a few days to check in on everyone and see what's needed most urgently. Poppy, can you get us the vitamin supplements by then?

Date: 2013-06-01 04:19 am (UTC)Maybe we should see if there's another farm like this we could take. In another part of the country. Maybe even on the coast itself.

Date: 2013-06-01 04:22 am (UTC)It helps that we were able to find an internal candidate for secret-keeping, and that they knew we were coming in advance, which meant we could work from the inside.
There's the sheep farm in Scotland where we already have connections.
A coastal operation would be excessively useful, but difficult to ward around enough of the water so they could continue fishing operations on any sort of scale without being noticed.

Date: 2013-06-01 04:20 am (UTC)I've been speaking with Norman, and a few of the others. I think it would be wise if we could bring Davidson in to meet with them, too. He can really help them with logistics, and we need to figure out inventory, and how our various groups can help one another. And Merlin knows he's an experienced hand at getting magical and muggle folk to work together in common cause.
What if we suggest a meeting here tomorrow, as we help continue to sort things out?

Date: 2013-06-01 04:24 am (UTC)Would you mind staying for the night? Just in case anything immediate comes up? If that'd be all right with them, of course.
