Severus.

Neville came up to us after lunch today with a very specific request.

The long and the short of it is, he wants us to tell him everything, and then obliviate him after. He’s said he’d rather know what we do for an hour or two and forget than stay in the dark.

Did you know this was coming? Did he talk this over with you at all?

Frank is asking Minerva and Arthur permission.

I do not understand why Minerva's permission is necessary.

Frank and I are both aware of how our family can present security liabilities. It's always good to check with someone, even if we think it perfectly reasonable, just in case.

If we're to make a case for his getting into the Order, we must be careful.

If they should give permission, I should like to ask you a rather large favour.

You're under no obligation to say yes.

But Frank and I were talking, and, well, there are a few things we'd like to do, and one thing we very much need.

We think it'd be nice if Terry Boot were to be fetched from Moddey Dhoo, so he and Neville can have a sit-down.

And, well, I'd like to ask you if you'd help with the obliviation. It's a delicate thing, and while Frank and I are both proficient enough to use it as a weapon, this isn't an enemy we're talking about, this is my son. Making it rather more difficult. You are better at memory spells than either of us and know his brain better than we do. And he trusts you. As do Frank and me. Would you?

Would you fetch Terry and help us? Please?

I know we haven't talked to the rest of the Order yet about you coming to Moddey Dhoo formally, and this'd just be meeting at the rendezvous point to pick him up, but that is something I very much want to sort out after all this is said and done. I wish it was under less hurried circumstances.
