I'm nicely settled in the guest room here with Remus and Tonks, and we've just had a lovely afternoon sitting and sipping tea and catching up on just about everything. Mum and Dad and baby are all doing fabulously, of course, and it's so good to see everyone.
I've been asked to be Albia Carina's godmother, and I am just so honoured that it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. Thank you, Remus and Tonks. I look forward to spoiling her rotten for years and years to come. It's funny, I spend a good deal of my time around babies, but each one has something different and special about them, and I don't think I could ever get tired of them. Bea has this little wrinkle between her eyes when she's thinking hard about something, or about ready to cry for a bit, and it's so very dear. I can't wait for her to meet Kevin. And such a head of hair on her! She really is darling.
I've been showing Remus all the baby-proofing charms I know, like how to pad the corners of the fireplace and coffeetable, and how to stick the cabinets so they won't open unless you're reaching from above, and all those little things that will pay off once Bea starts crawling. And there's the tried and true remedies and diagnostic charms we use at Moddey Dhoo nearly every day to sort out colic and rash and all that. And I've brought a baby book that my Grandma Kate gave me when I had Neville. I practically have the section on teething memorised by now, and I have a feeling Tonks will get good use out of it, so I'm leaving it with her.
Before I put this down and start helping with dinner, I wanted to ask, Minerva, if you think it would be all right to plant a tree for Hannah Abbot at Moddey Dhoo's memorial garden. I think it'd give great comfort to Neville one day.

Rue had that crinkle between her eyes: it was a strong clue that she would, very shortly, require burping, comfort or a change of nappy. Hm. I hadn't thought about that expression in years.
Dear.
