We simply must talk about all this. I know you've been avoiding it, but you've been seen by one too many students, and you really have got to back off. Stay with Remus and Tonks in London. Please. For my sanity, as well as Minerva's. I know you want to keep Harry safe, but you're putting yourself in danger, you're putting Terry Boot in danger, and Pomona too, and I know it makes you feel better to be close to Harry, but this is just getting to be too much.

Darling, I know that you have very strong feelings about the right thing to do, and that's one of the things that I admire in you. But because of those strong feelings, and your stubbornness, you can sometimes not see the forest for the trees. All I'm asking you to do is to take a step back, love, and think about the risks, and think about what you want to accomplish here.

You don't have to worry nearly as much as you think. I did tell him we had to put things on hold while the examiners were here. Almost broke his heart but he understands the danger - probably better than most would do.

I've moved off the grounds, as well. I still don't think two students spotting a stray is too many but no, I don't want to take foolish chances.

We can approach Minerva about getting Terry a Portkey once the term is over.

And you could always write him letters -- I'm sure you could charm them so only he could read them, or so that they'd deliver to a place in the castle only he knows of.

I've also been wondering... you made it seem like he mentioned us. Frank and me. What did he say?

Mm. Learning an Animagus transformation by a correspondence course? Not exactly the ideal method. I'll work something out, though - and don't worry, Allie, I'll make sure it's safe. Perhaps if Carrow and the Razzer leave for holidays (and Carrow doesn't get to take Terry with him) it'll be a good deal easier.

Though perhaps not. I need to remember to tell Minerva something about Madam Hooch, in point of fact.

As for you and Frank, Hermione and wand-smuggling ... What didn't he ask? If you two are okay. If Kevin knows anything about his brother and sister. What Hermione knows about us. How many people are involved in smuggling wands. How we got them into the country. I deflected nearly everything. Then just as we were packing in for the night, he said: 'Tell me about the resistence. You don't have to tell me who. Just tell me...is there anyone else out there?'

You can lecture me about keeping safe and out of sight, Allie. But don't tell me he can't be trusted to know I'm alive.
